Beautiful Hungarian rural cities to visit this fall – PHOTOS!
Many people love to drink a cup of tea and read a book in the fall or decorate their home with various decorations. But many people also love to enjoy what remains of the good weather before the chilly winter arrives. In this article, we recommend some rural cities that you might enjoy visiting, even if you simply wish to take a break from the noise and traffic of big cities.
Debrecen
Piac Street is probably one of the best venues to walk down, as it opens into Kossuth Square, the city’s main square. On the court, you can see the sculpture composition erected in memory of Lajos Kossuth, the city coat of arms of 180,000 Venetian glass mosaics, the Millennium Fountain and the Aranybika Hotel, built in an eclectic style.
The city has a multimedia water fountain called Ködszínház (could be translated as Fog theatre). Here you can see short movies presenting Debrecen and laser animations.
Déri Museum is another great place to see, and they even have Bible-themed guided tours with a play of lights accompanied by music. Agóra Scientific Experience Center, the Zoo, Modem Modern And Contemporary Art Center, the Debrecen House of Literature, or Aquaticum Spa could also be great tourist destinations. Kerekerdő Adventure Park or the Selfie Museum are also attractive to check out.
This city has its own airport, so visitors might travel to Debrecen directly. Many concerts will be organised this fall, so make sure you check out THIS website to find out more. You can use a simple translation function in your browser and see the events described in English.
Szeged
Szeged is a beautiful city with rich architecture. Taking a walk and looking at the architectural values of the city is definitely worth it.
Reök Palace, Ungár-Mayer Palace, Raichl Palace, Dömötör Tower, Fogadalmi church, Beregi house, the musical clock, the water tower at Szent István Square, the Reformat Palace, or Gróf Palace will be mesmerising sights to see.
The Zoo, Kass Gallery, Square of Martyrs of Arad, Füvészkert, Erzsébet-liget, Glattfelder Gyula Square could be other options to spend your time. At the same time, Anna bath and Napfényfürdő Aquapolis await visitors who enjoy a day at the spa rather than active ways to spend free time.
Kaposvár
Buildings in Art Noveau and Classicism, the Rippl-Rónai-villa will amaze you in this hidden gem of Hungary. Fekete István Visitors Center, with a tranquil atmosphere next to Deseda Lake, is also a great destination. The lake is the longest artificial lake in Hungary, and the area is a popular destination among locals, too. If one loves stargazing, Zselici Csillagpark is just the right spot, but the Zselic Landscape Protection Area could be a sight worth seeing. Those who enjoy wellness centres will not be disappointed, either.
Sopron region
Sopron is a beautiful city in Hungary, which might be familiar to those who like festivals. The region, however, is a place of many stunning sights, impressive buildings, and an endless variety of activities. Check out all the programs on THIS link and THIS one.
